Wow! Kaitlyn hit 11 mo. old and hit warp speed on learning and doing all sorts of new things! I don’t know how she isn’t worn out! I know we are! To catch you up, on Friday we finally found the motivation Kaitlyn needed to get crawling. Nate’s iPod. Yep, the lure of watching puppies was enough to get Kaitlyn to move across the floor – of course that was after she made a big stink about it and tried to whine enough to get us to just bring the iPod to her.
To view video above on YouTube click here.(Keep in mind that Kaitlyn has been pulling up and cruising around the furniture, walls, cupboards, etc. for a while and we thought that she might just skip crawling all together – now we are really in trouble because she can get pretty much anywhere she wants!)
Then, Sat. we set up a little wading pool on the back patio and let it get nice and warm for a little splashing. Strangely enough Kaitlyn wasn’t a big fan at first and had to sit on my legs with just her feet in for a little bit before she was brave enough to sit in the pool on her own. Once she was all the way in she was perfectly happy!
More teeth! So we’ve just been waiting for Kaitlyn’s top teeth to make their appearance since her bottom teeth came in back in March/April. We can now see her left top tooth just under the surface of her gums. Maybe she’ll have 3 teeth by the time she turns 1! (We haven’t gotten a picture yet, but we’re trying!)
On the allergy front – I am happy to report that Kaitlyn has tried all sorts of things with wheat in them and has had NO reaction!!!! Yea!!!! It looks like maybe we are in the clear for wheat and now can start thinking about introducing eggs. (In case you missed it – Kaitlyn had a pretty big reaction to a teething biscuit at 9 mo. and b/c of that reaction was tested for food allergies. The test came back positive on a large number of common allergy causing foods. The test just means that she has a 50-50 shot of having a reaction to that particular food. The only way to verify said reaction is for us to feed her that food – sort of scary when the Dr. prescribes an Epi pen for just in case!)

Cruzin! Way to go Kaitlyn!! Nice work with the incentive too! :)
She looks like she is already a pro at the whole crawling thing. No more rest for mommy!
Well she is on the move now and there is no stoping her. Horray for Kaitlyn.
What a cutie! Can't wait to see her for her 1st birthday!
She's growing up and learning more and more each day. From the rate she's signing, she'll be signing and talking 90 miles an hour and none of us will be able to keep up!
