We’re Getting There!

So as soon as the turkey was carved and the pumpkin pie was devoured we got started on Christmas decorations.  Kaitlyn has been admiring the decorations in the mall and around town for a while and was super excited about decorating around our house.

Stage 1 involved Kaitlyn pulling lots of stuff out of bins faster than we  could identify it and figure out where it was supposed to go.  Luckily the Santa hat and Santa himself were favorites and occupied her for long enough for us to figure out what to do with the items packed around them.

Stage 2: decorating the tree.  Kaitlyn thought this was great – mainly because she got to do lots of helping!  Candy canes went on first – she doesn’t realize they are edible yet… Then some beads and ornaments.  If Kaitlyn had been in charge the 3 feet at the bottom of the tree would have anchored the rest of the tree, but luckily Daddy was there to help and the tree is more evenly trimmed.IMG_0128IMG_0119IMG_0134IMG_0137IMG_0138

Pinterest has been my enemy this season and every time I look at the cute ideas people pin I end up adding another thing to my list of holiday ideas.  I’d love to make some cinnamon ornaments – not hard, but just have to find time!  Not to mention finding dozens of cute ideas for count-down calendars, cookies, gifts and more!  One thing at a time though….

Hope you are all having a wonderful start to your holiday season!
