Aaaahhhh

It has been several years since we’ve been back to Seattle and the Northwest in general.  We’ve been wanting to make the trip and finally managed to squeeze it in between Nate’s last conference of the year in Ohio and the start of classes at ISU.  (People really don’t understand how much work professor’s do! But, that is a soapbox for another time…)

We have spent the last few days with our friends and their kiddo just soaking in the cool Seattle air.  Yes, according to some in the area it is “hot” right now and there are a few that are even saying that it is down-right humid, and I’ll admit the air is very moist, but all in all – BEAUTIFUL!  Even with a few drizzles.

Here are some pictures from the Zoo.  Poor Kaitlyn is used to our little Des Moines Zoo and was pretty much done about half way through.  “This is a big zoo…” was what Nate kept hearing as K drifted off to sleep in his arms as we wrapped up our trip.  Luckily our Zoo pass gets us in to some other zoos across the US for free!  And, the Woodland Park Zoo was one of them!  Yippy!IMG_1910 Kaitlyn thought the penguins were really super cool.  WPZ is full of babies and there were even penguin babies!  Some would interact with you at the glass.  It was pretty neat!IMG_1914IMG_1916Peek!  Little foxes looking through a hole!IMG_1922IMG_1924IMG_1928IMG_1934IMG_1936IMG_1937IMG_1947

We might see about going back to the zoo if we get the chance later this next week, but there are so many fun things to see and do in Seattle…well, it is hard to choose!

If you haven’t ever been to Seattle, GO!  You’ll love it! Rain and all!

The zoo looks like a good one. One never really appreciates what one has until one leaves it.
