4 years old!

Kaitlyn turned 4 this last week!  She was up with the sunshine to let us know she was ready to be 4! (And to open presents.)

 

She was treated to a “Do whatever you want day” with Daddy since Mommy had to take a class.  She was in heaven!  Then after a day of opening presents, playing Legos, going to the waterpark, watching movies, and being a paleontologist - fun she got to pick a place to go out to dinner. 

Kaitlyn decided to go to The Café, one of our favorite places to eat, for a dinner of her choice– scrambled eggs and bacon and then a lemon tart for birthday dessert! 

The next morning Kaitlyn woke up to tell us “I’m actually 4 now!” I guess you have to give it time for a new number to settle in! 

Then, the rest of the week, she enjoyed getting more presents and playing with all sorts of things…like her “stompers.” You remember these, don’t you?

Saturday our week culminated with a party…because what is a birthday without a little party?  Kaitlyn had been changing her mind for weeks about what kind of cake she wanted and finally settled on a sprinkle cake with peppermint ice cream in the middle…lucky for her Mamma is an engineer when it comes to cakes!
Can you tell that Kaitlyn picked the colors and the sprinkles?  Yep!  We’ve hit the pink and purple phase! I’m secretly hoping it doesn’t last too long, but with girl number 2 on the way…we are probably doomed to pink and purple for years to come!
